Povljana is located on a hill, i.e. at the contact of a limestone rock formation and a fertile field. It extends to 38.57 square kilometers. A very large part of the Povljana area is covered with vine fields.

In the past, Povljana was an agricultural area that fed most of the island of Pag, and today it is an excellent vacation spot on the Croatian coast.
